IUD inserted, feeding,severe bleeding .Is this normal?

I am feeding my 6 month old baby and did not have my periods till date after my child birth.I got an IUD (Multiload) inserted on friday evening(2 days back). I started having abdominal cramps after insertion and subsequently spotting started. From yesterday i started bleeding and it hurts a lot. The bleeding has increased now. As it is sunday today my Gyneac is not available. I want to know is this my periods or anything serious because of insertion. I have lot of heavy duty work to do at home like lifting heavy objects and other household chores. I am having seconds thoughts of removing this thing off if it is problematic. Please give in your opinion.
