My schedule C amount is more than my actual 1099Misc???

I am just finishing my bil's taxes and am down to his 1099 misc... i put in all the information that is on the 1099misc.He has $11884 in the other box and 1265 in the federal withholding..he will get credit for this right? So im just finishing and it tells me to put this on a schedule c..but the problem is this was for his tools..so this really isnt a business...but it asks for his business address and information..he doesn't have anything like that...so whn i complete it all and leave it blank..the schedule c shows an amount of over $13000...why would this be?
