A question for atheists regarding devotion to God...?

Do you believe in the goodness of human beings and place your trust in them? Would you not believe that God is theonly one who you can really trust because people all set you up for disappointment due to their petty ways? And wouldn't you say that your yourself is full of weaknesses and cannot be trusted in not letting peopel down?
